SIGNED TADATOSHI, EDO PERIOD (19TH CENTURY)

The shojo depicted as a long-haired female wrapped in her kimono and fast asleep after a long sake-drinking session, was one of Tadatoshi's favorite subjects. By downplaying their demonic characteristics and giving them a very human and female identity, Tadatoshi influenced the future depiction of these creatures.
