Lot Essay

The first generation Katsuki Saemon Morisada is believed to have been summoned from Kyoto to Kaga by the Maeda clan around 1650. Later generations are recorded named Yojiro, Kan'emon, and Hanjuro who made horse equipment for the Kaga daimyo, and are believed also to have made tsuba in the middle Edo period.
