Woven in wools and silks, depicting Hero with her hands held high in despair over the body of Leander, to the right, Cupid seated on the shore with his redundant bow watching and another maiden on the left of the group praying, the sun and sea in the background and a castle door on the far left, in a later blue and yellow outer slip, reduced in size, minor losses to light silks
