A GROUP OF SIX JADE BLADES, SHANG DYNASTY (1600-1100BC) AND LATER
the first of green russet tone, with three parallel ridges to the sides and shaped pointed base; two translucent pale celadon jade blades, one of very slender form; three opaque russet and cream jade blades with the tip slightly pointing to one side, of various sizes, one carved with geometrical design above the handle; and a re-carved rectangular jade fragment of opaque dark ivory tone -- The longest, 4¼in. (10.9cm.) long, the sixth with fitted box. (7)
