TWO BRONZE MIRRORS, TANG DYNASTY (618-906) AND HONGWU PERIOD (1368-1398)
comprising a Tang Dynasty mirror of silvery bronze, with foliate form, decorated in relief with twin birds to the centre, flanking the central knop and holding the stem of a flowering blossom in their beaks, surrounded by a band of insects and flowers, stand; and a circular mirror, a raised panel to the body reading 'made on a day in the fifth month of the twenty-second year of Hongwu' equivalent to 1390, with a curling dragon in flight amongst cloud scrolls, stand -- Tang mirror, 5¼in. (13.3cm.) diam. (2)

Rose Kerr also notes that a number of similar mirrors are recorded, two in the Palace Museum in Taiwan, one of them illustrated in Qianlong's catalogue of Palace bronzes Xi Qing gu jian.
