A RUSSET BROWN SERPENTINE SOAPSTONE VESSEL, POSSIBLY TANG DYNASTY (618-907)
of cylindrical form, carved to the exterior with horizontal convex bands; and an amber group carving of Shoulao and a female Immortal with a child attendant, the reverse carved with a monkey playing with an oversized peach and a crane perched on a pine tree, 19th Century -- the first, 5¼in. (13.4cm.) diam. (2)
