A BLUE AND WHITE BOWL, WANLI MARK AND OF THE PERIOD (1573-1619)
painted to the exterior with a continuous river landscape scene with many scattered islands each with pagodas, rockwork and overhanging trees, the interior with a band of crane wading within water surrounded by flowering lotus, the interior well with a retreat peaking out behind tall jutting rockwork, Wanli underglaze blue six-character mark to base -- 5¾in. (14.5cm.) diam.
