TWO SILVER EXPORT CUPS, MARKED CUMWO, HONG KONG (1851-1900) AND CUTSHING, CANTON (1826-1875)
the first cup with the bowl densely decorated in repoussé with tree shrews amongst fruiting vines and a shield shaped reserve bearing the engraving 'Catherine Milicent' 1883, with gilded interior, the stem as entwined vine branches issuing from a domed base, marks reading CW and a workshop mark Quan ji, with fitted wood box; the second cup with bell shaped bowl, with chased diamonds and entwined s-forms amongst flowers, with short plain stem and flaring base, marks reading CUT and bearing pseudo English hall marks -- the first cup, 6¾in. (17cm.) high approx. (2)
