A CINNABAR LACQUER SAUCER DISH, 16TH/17TH CENTURY
the central depressed roundel depicting a solitary peony flowerhead surrounded by a band of interlocking petals, the outer border with leafing blossoms on a floret diaper ground -- 4½in. (11.6cm.) wide.
