painted in vibrant enamels to the centre with alternating scaly dragons and phoenix amidst scrolling stems of peony, the design repeated as a frieze in the well and around the exterior, the dragons variously executed in yellow, green, aubergine and iron-red, Kangxi underglaze blue six-character mark within a double circle to base -- 12 5/8in. (32cm.) wide.
