Lot Essay

We are grateful to Professor Lino Moretti for suggesting the attribution on the basis of photographs, and to Professor David R. Marshall for confirming it. The handling and pictorial vocabulary of the present pair can be compared to one sold at Sotheby's New York, 29 May 2003, lot 112, and to the artist's signed Finding of Moses (Sotheby's, Milan, 9 June 2009, lot 77).
