Square, the bases on four scroll and foliage feet, with partly fluted covers and shell, foliage and gadrooned borders, the covers with acanthus bud finials and engraved with two crests, marked on stands
the stands 10 in. (25.5 cm.) wide
The crests are those of Biddulph, of Ledbury, co. Hereford, possibly for John Biddulph (1768-1845). He was a dedicated diarist. Many of his journals survive and are held at the Hereford Public Record Office. (2)
