Lot Essay

Farini is probably best known for his association with the seminal studio potter William De Morgan. For a dish in the Victoria & Albert Museum made for De Morgan in 1890 and painted by Farini (also signed with his monogram within a Star of David), see William Gaunt and M.D.E. Clayton-Stamm, William De Morgan (London, 1971), p. 126, pls. 120-1.
