ATTRIBUTED TO JOHN HICKEY (1751-1795), LATE 18TH CENTURY
Each figure standing, classically dressed, and on an integrally carved octagonal base; the tragic muse represented by the actress Sarah Siddons as Cassandra, holding one hand to her temple, the comic actress clasping a mask to her forehead
