Menuisier peu connu, Pillot habitait à Nîmes. Il vendait '... toutes sortes de meubles, fauteuils l'anglaise en médaillon, ...lits à la turque, ottomane, sofa... Nismes, près le Marché, no. 106...' (voir P. Kjellberg, Le Mobilier Français du XVIIIe Siècle Français, Paris, 1998, p. 654). Sa production se distingue par des pieds en gaine à cannelures comme en témoigne notre suite de chaises.
