Both modelled by J.J. Kändler, he in a turquoise cap, red-cuffed white jacket, baggy yellow pantaloons and black shoes, filling his pipe from a tobacco pouch on his knee, seated on a tasselled blue cushion on rockwork, on a rectangular base applied with a vessel and coloured flowers and foliage (stem of pipe lacking), Barbara Utman with her hair tied in elaborate head bands, in a short black cape, white apron, yellow dress and blue shoes, seated on a turquoise cushion on rockwork on a shaped mound base, a lace pillow on her lap (left hand restuck, restoration to thumb, index finger and toe of left shoe, flaking to turquoise enamel)
