A PAIR OF MEISSEN GROUPS EMBLEMATIC OF SUMMER AND WINTER
CIRCA 1750-55, PRESSNUMMER 18 TO ONE
Each group with four scantily clad putti, the putti on the group emblematic of Summer with sheaths of corn, the other putti emblematic of Winter fashioning arrows on an anvil before a flaming fire, each group with a scroll-moulded base enriched in gilding (Summer with some minor chipping to corn and extremities, sickle lacking, Winter group broken through and restuck with small associated losses, anvil block restuck and anvil chipped, four arrows partially lacking and some restoration to quiver)
