A CONTINENTAL PORCELAIN GOLD-GROUND PORTRAIT CUP AND SAUCER PAINTED WITH TSAR NICHOLAS I
CIRCA 1826
The cup of flared form on a circular foot and with a high scroll handle etched with stylised leaves within a rectangular panel, the portrait of the Tsar turned to his right in ceremonial dress with gilt epaulettes, a blue sash and badges of various orders, the saucer with a gilt stylised foliage medallion within a gilt ground border etched with stylised leaves linked by scrolls (slight flakes to well of saucer and minute flake to footrim of cup)
