A document in Sheffield Record Office (TT/100/20) dated 4 October 1794 records 'Thomas Marriott Perkins, of Walker House, in the chapelry of Bradfield, co. Yorks., gent., eldest son and heir of Thomas Marriott Perkins, of Mosquito Shore, N. America, merchant, decd. intestate, who was himself the son of the Rev. John Perkins, nephew of Benjamin Marriott, late of Ughill, gent., decd.'.
