Anonymous (Peruvian school 18th century)
Finely carved box (coquera) with silver lock and key standing on 4 feet detailed with female heads topped with feathers; the exterior is carved with scroll motifs and alternating stylized ladder pattern; the lid has woman's face with feathered headdress and wings enclosed in a carved emblem with foliage and scroll design. The lower section has putti with foliage and scroll pattern; back has center medallion flanked by foliage details; the lid opens to reveal three compartments; hinged at back.
