Tasting Note: Hot summer with the harvest beginning early in intense heat on 13 September to 13 October. Superbly ripe, rich wine. Never a poor bottle. Perfect, glowing amber-gold with apple-green rim; bouquet - well, the usual thing only more so, yet totally harmonious; still remarkably sweet, mouthfilling with a singed hot-vintage character. 1998 ***** M.B.
