The case, formerly ebonised, with glazed side panels, the 7in. wide brass dial with date square and false pendulum aperture to the matted centre, the applied arch with silvered roundel with wheat ear engraved border and signed 'Thos. Vernon/LONDON', steel hands (minute replaced), the twin line fusees movement with later anchor escapement, rack strike on bell and pull quarter repeat, scroll and foliate engraved back plate with repeat signature, replaced seatboard; pendulum
