The case (formerly ebonised) surmounted by brass handle and acorn finials to all angles (brass-work now gilded), the 7 in. wide brass dial with foliate spandrels, matted centre with false pendulum, date square and signed on silvered cartouche 'John Arnold/London', alarm disc to the centre, blued steel hands, the twin line fusees movement with verge escapement and rack strike and trip repeat and alarm on bell, the back plate engraved with scrolling foliate, birds and pagoda; two case keys
