The bracket leaf border of this lot is beautifully executed on a deep emerald ground. The large scale and spaciousness of the border seems to contain the energy exerted by the intricate field. The colors and field here are closely related to those of lots 129 and 205 all having similar formats and design elements such as the multitude of blossoms, dual colored arched leaves, dark vinery, and occasional cloud band. Given their similar fields and that they all employ variations of bracket leaf borders it is likely that they were produced in the same workshop.

This carpet occupied the Long Gallery on the first floor of the Clark residence in New York City.
