Tasting Note: The 1978 Barbaresco Riserva Santo Stefano showed why this wine is justly regarded by many as one of the world's greatest wines. It too was deeply coloured and revealed a massive core of dark fruit, with mentholated, balsamic nuances that gradually emerged from its towering frame.
