"Ask Mama", or the Richest Commoner in England, London: Bradbury and Evans, 1858. 13 original parts, 8°, 13 hand-coloured etched plates and 70 wood-engraved illustrations by John Leech (occasional marginal spotting or light marginal thumb-soiling), original brick-red printed wrappers, in a cloth box, partly unopened (covers of pts.V & XII detached, most spines chipped or split with loss, small white stain on sides of pt. I). Provenance: Old Park House, Radbourne near Derby (blindstamp on front covers). FIRST EDITION IN ORIGINAL PARTS, FIRST ISSUE OF PART I, with the words "Ask Mama" in outline letters.
