With belled brass barrel formed in three stages, raised mouldings at the breech and muzzle, engraved breech and barrel tang, engraved flat lock signed within a rococo trophy cartouche, figured walnut full stock, the butt carved with a shell in low relief about the tang and with an early working reinforcing rivet through the grip, engraved brass mounts, including butt-plate decorated en suite with the lock, trigger-guard with early acorn finial, and solid side-plate of shaped outline, decorated escutcheon, and brass-tipped ramrod, Birmingham private proof marks
