Lot Essay

The full heraldry on the painted panel is for Blount quartering Sodington impaling Riddell, for Sir Walter Blount, 7th Bt (1768-1803) and his wife Anne (d.1823), youngest daughter of Thomas Riddell, of Felton Park and Swinburne Castle, Northumberland, whom he married in 1792.
