A FINE DOUCAI WINE CUP
KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)

With delicately potted deep sides rising from the small ring foot to the lipped rim, decorated on the exterior with two sages, one wearing iron-red robes and one in green and yellow, seated drinking wine beside an aubergine glazed jar, their young attendant approaching with a vessel, the reverse with sprays of chrysanthemum springing from angular rocks, all within pale underglaze-blue outlines and between single-blue lines around the mouth and foot, the base with an apocryphal Chenghua reign mark within double squares
