A RARE IMPERIAL CINNABAR LACQUER KANG TABLE
QIANLONG PERIOD (1736-1795)

The low table with a flat top decorated in qiangjin with a regular continuous pattern of stylised wan characters extending to form interlocking keyfrets, the apron spanning the straight legs which terminate in inward scroll feet, the legs flanking pierced ruyi panels at the sides, the apron, legs and side panels carved overall with bats in flight among lotus blooms borne on leafy tendrils, the wan character pattern repeated on the spandrels joining the legs and apron
