Lot Essay

By 1957 Hank Thompson would be performing exclusively with a Gibson Super 400 CES. This custom Super 400 was used as a back up instrument for performance and recording by Thompson from 1968. The custom fingerboard inlay and P-90 pickups, over the standard Humbuckings for this period, were two of the custom features supplied by Gibson for Thompson.
