A CYCLADIC MARBLE HEAD
LATE SPEDOS VARIETY, CIRCA 2500-2400 B.C.
From a reclining female figure, the face of the lyre-shaped head with a continuous convex form, bending back toward the gently curving crown, and echoed in the rounded chin, with a long slender nose, on a broad cylindrical neck, with ghosts of pigment for the eyes and a band across the forehead
