A GREEK MARBLE APHRODITE
HELLENISTIC PERIOD, CIRCA 3RD-1ST CENTURY B.C.
The goddess depicted nude, standing with her weight on her right leg, her left leg bent at the knee and slightly advanced, her right arm lowered, her fingers resting on her left thigh and covering her pudendum, the right shoulder slightly forward, the left shoulder back, her left arm originally angled down behind her, perhaps bent forward and holding her drapery, with a strut partially preserved on her left hip, her elongated figure naturalistically modelled, twisting down and to the right, creating a feminine paunch around her navel
