Double-page engraved allegorical title-page, engraved portraits of the Duke of Marlborough and Caesar, 84 engraved maps and plates (62 double-page), and numerous engraved initials and head- and tail-pieces. 18th-century diced russia, spine gilt, edges gilt (some rubbing and minor scuffing).

FIRST EDITION. "The most sumptuous classical work... " (Lowndes). The double-page plate of the bull, which, according to Lowndes, "is sometimes wanting or damaged", is present in this copy. Brunet I, 1456; Lowndes I, p. 344.
