Cyrillic mark 'ASh' for an unrecorded maker, Moscow, 1877
Rectangular, traditionally painted, the mantles of the seated Mother of God and Christ Child applied with seed-pearls and gold thread, both wearing cut-out halos, flanked by two angels emerging from the clouds, the pierced oklad repoussé and chased with foliate borders and decorated with four reserves depicting scenes from the life of The Virgin Mary, each engraved above with Russian inscription, marked on lower rim, wooden backing
