A Porcelain Tazza From The Ropsha Service
by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, period of Alexander III, 1887
Circular, the raised foot and foliate moulded flared stem gilded, the shallow bowl of blue ground with ciselé gilt palmette design and moulded gilt rim, with the Imperial double-headed eagle at the centre, marked under base with green underglaze Cyrillic monogram 'A III' beneath the Imperial Russian crown, over the number '87'
7¼ in. (18.5 cm.) high, 4¾ in. (11.9 cm.) diameter of the base
