by the Imperial Porcelain Factory, St Petersburg, circa 1840
Circular, with undulating rim, the blue overglaze body decorated with a white ground cartouche painted in the centre with the Imperial double-headed eagle, framed within a stylized gilt floral design, the blue body with gilt rim and symmetrical stylized gilt details, marked with dark blue underglaze Cyrillic monogram 'N I' beneath the Imperial Russian crown
