Grand-Duchess Anna Pavlovna of Russia, later Queen of the Netherlands, her centre-parted hair tied in ringlets, wearing a low-cut white muslin dress with embroidered lace border; oval -- 68 mm high, cast gilt-metal mount.

Anna Pavlovna (1795-1865), daughter of Tsar Paul I of Russia and his wife Maria Feodorovna, was married to the future King William II of the Netherlands in 1816. Two miniatures depicting sisters of Anna, also by Collas and dated 1809, were sold in theses rooms, 16 November 1994, lots 129 and 130.
