A matched set of eight Dutch silver candlesticks
Six with mark of Johan P. Sondag, Rotterdam, 1785; two with mark of Rudolph Sondag, Rotterdam, 1792; three of the set and one of the pair also struck with later Dutch duty mark
Each on a square base with applied leaves in the corners, surmounted by a circular domed base with beaded rim below a garland band alternated with flower-heads, rising towards a fluted stem, the upper part of the stem applied with hoops suspending loose garlands, the fluted socket with applied leaves and beaded rim, with detachable openwork drip-pans, marked on bases
