The patinated figure of Cupid flanking a columnar clockcase surrounded by floral garlands, the blue and white enamel Arabic dial signed H. Luppens & Cie., Bruxelles, pierced gilt-brass hands, on a moulded plinth base with gadrooned edge and centred by a foliate cast skirt, on fluted bock feet, the eight-day twin barrel movement with Brockot-type suspension, strike on gong, the backplate stamped H. LUPPENS, PARIS, the underside of the case with old paper label inscribed LUSTRES, BRONZES, PENDULES, MEUBLES/H.
