A Kassel earthenware two-handled presentation vase and cover
Circa 1780
In the Neoclassical style and inspired by Wedgwood Agateware "Bedfordian Goat's Head Vases" examples, the urn-shaped body marbled allover in reddish brown and applied with cream ground elements, with two oval wreathed medallions enclosing amorous couples, two large handles naturalistically modelled as ram's heads, the neck with dots, the small domed cover en suite with metal ring handle, one ram's horn broken away
