Decorated overall in première partie with strapwork and foliate scrolls, the rectangular top centred by a floral cartouche within a lambrequined foliate border, above a recessed frieze drawer and a kneehole cupboard, flanked to each side by three conformingly-inlaid short drawers, the sides inlaid with further strapwork and mystical beasts, on canted square tapering legs joined by X-shaped stretchers and terminating in toupie feet, the black-painted back, branded 'S.L' beneath a crown, by family tradition for the Princes della Torre e Tasso, Italian branch of the Thurn & Taxis family, minor losses and restorations to the marquetry
