This painting relates to the Adoration of the Magi frescoed by Isidoro Bianchi before 1625 in the Sanctuary of Santa Maria dei Ghirli, Campione d'Italia, for which a preparatory drawing is in the Statens Museum fur Kunst, Copenhagen (inv. TU 15/6).
