Lot Essay

Leonard Boudin, maître in 1761.

Leonard Boudin was a marchand-ébéniste who commissioned work from his fellow ébénistes as well as making things himself. Amongst the most prolific of the Transitional Period, his stamp as a marchand often appears alongside those of the maker, particularly Roussel, Peridiez and Cosson, with whom he collaborated frequently.
