Titian's Death of Actaeon, a later mythological work by the artist, had been on loan to the National Gallery London when, in 1971, it was bought by a Californian Museum. A public appeal to save the painting for the nation was launched and one of the fund-raising activities was a ballet organised by Richard Buckle which took place in June 1971. In addition to Rosoman, artists such as Duncan Grant, John Piper, Patrick Procktor, Ceri Richards, Robert Medley and Keith Vaughan designed variations on Titian's painting. These were used as backdrops for the ballet.
Death of Actaeon by Rosoman is in the Royal Collection.
