[PLAYBILL -- DICKENS, Charles]. Playbill for the last night of performance at the Theatre Royal in Bath of Sam Weller! Or the Pickwickians and Poachers and Petticoats. Bath: John and James Keene, 5 January 1838.

Broadside (557 x 226 mm). (A few pale stains at edges.)

These performances were directed by W.J. Hammond and the playbill includes a synopsis of the three acts beneath the dramatis personae. Several dramatic adaptations followed on the success of Dickens's Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club. The present performance was billed as the "sixth and last time" this work would be staged, with W.J. Hammond both directing and acting as the lead.
