Rectangular, the apperture with ribbon-tied reeded border containing a photograph of Grand Duchess Elizabeth, inscribed in Russian In memory of our working together 1904/5, and surmounted by a further oval apperture in beaded border with applied ribbon-bow cresting containing a silver-gilt badge of the Red Cross Association under the patronage of Grande Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna formed as crowned interlaced cyrillic initials EF, encircling an enamel red cross, marked with Cyrillic initials VG, mounted in hollywood, with wood strut -- 32.1 cm high; together with two original telegrams from the Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna to Princess Zinaida Nikolaevna Iusupov, Countess Sumarokov-Elston (3)

The Red Cross Association was founded by Grand Duchess Elizabeth Feodorovna, sister of the last Russian Empress, whose close friendship with the mother of Prince Felix Yusupov is illustrated in the two unpublished telegrams sent after the murder of Rasputin.
The first telegram reads: Toutes mes prieres les plus profondes et tendres vous entourent tous pour l'acte patriotique de votre cher fils que Dieu vous benisse reviens de capeh et ...... y a passee dix jours de prieres, Elizabeth.
Teh second reads: Demande pardon avoir telegraphe hativement faux commerages, Elizabeth.
