FIRST EDITION. Largely written by William Burke with substantial help from his friend Edmund Burke, their account covers the history, agriculture, trade, and politics of the colonies, as well as the customs and manners of the native peoples on the eve of the American Revolution. Decidedly pro-British in tone, their work was a popular success with six editions published by 1777. Howes B-964; Sabin 9282. (2)
