Lot Essay

Tsondu Zangpo (1385-1464) or Thang.stong.rgyal.po is known as constructor of iron bridges in Tibet. The bridge at Phomi connecting the borders of the Brahmaputra river is attributed to him and constructed in 1420. In fact, thanks to the iron collected by the local communities who needed to cross the river, the bridge was constructed. Additionaly he travelled throughout Tibet and surrounding countries to teach the Buddhist philosophy.
