FIRST EDITION, the first 10 volumes signed by the author as issued. The plates in these volumes could be purchased at an extra cost; Palau calls for a general map of Spain although this map is neither in the copy at the Musée National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris, nor the last copy at auction recorded by ABPC (Sotheby's, 23 October 1978, lot 173). The plates include a view of Gibraltar and a map of the Canary Islands. Captain S.E. Widdrington wrote two books on the region: Spain and the Spaniards, and Sketches in Spain. Palau 171278. (11)
